Los Angeles, Calif., July 16, 2004 – Emmy nominated Jane Kaczmarek (Outstanding Lead Actress In A Comedy - “Malcolm In The Middle”) and her husband Bradley Whitford (Outstanding Drama Series - “The West Wing”) are proud to announce that they will be spearheading the third annual Clothes Off Our Back celebrity clothing auction.

“On the heels of the Emmy announcements, Bradley and I are asking nominees to join us as we donate our award show attire following the Emmy telecast on September 19,” said Jane Kaczmarek, co-founder/president of Clothes Off Our Back and star of television's “Malcolm In The Middle.”  “Over the past two years, with the help of over 40 celebrities and numerous fashion designers, Clothes Off Our Back has raised over $200,000 for children’s charities.  We hope to continue the tradition and make it an ongoing event for celebrities and the general public.”

Each year, Clothes Off Our Back selects charities that focus on children’s causes to benefit from the online auctions.  This year’s charity beneficiaries are the Children’s Defense Fund, Smile Train and the Cure Autism Now Foundation.  Previous Clothes Off Our Back celebrity participants include Jennifer Aniston, James Gandolfini, Jennifer Garner, Ellen DeGeneres, Edie Falco, Matthew Perry and many others.

Clothes Off Our Back is also proud to announce the appointment of Michel Schneider as Executive Director.  Schneider joins the Foundation after spending five years in the public relations arena, most recently at Edelman Public Relations where she worked on accounts in practices including consumer, entertainment and non-profit.

The Clothes Off Our Back charity auctions showcase today’s hottest celebrity award show attire. Items are put up for bid to the public with proceeds going to select charities each year.  Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Children’s Defense Fund, Smile Train and the Cure Autism Now Foundation.  Information about the auction can be found at www.clothesoffourback.org.
