WHAT: On October 25, the 4th Annual Lingerie Art Auction took place at an intimate cocktail party held at the
The evening raised more than $120,000 and broke the previous years’ record on a single sale of $20,000 -- a one-of-a-kind corset designed by Dita Von Teese. The top selling piece of the evening was as unique and unforgettable as the Burlesque star herself: The stunning hot white design was encrusted with multi-colored Swarovski crystals and finished with a striking hot pink feather tail. Scarlett Johansson’s corset sold for $11,000. Her corset displayed platinum glass hand beading on a champagne satin bodice, accented with champagne-colored tulle lightly touched with beaded “bubbles”.
Corsets sold in the live auction were designed by Christina Aguilera ($4,000), Mary J. Blige ($1,800), Scarlett Johansson ($11,000), Jane Kaczmarek ($6,500), Beyonce Knowles ($8,000), Gwen Stefani ($8,500) and Dita von Teese ($20,000).
Corsets included in the silent auction were designed by Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette, Jessica Biel, Penelope Cruz, Allison Janney, Teri Hatcher, Lucy Liu, Eva Longoria, Camryn Manheim, Julianne Moore, Kyra Sedgwick, Jessica Simpson and Hilary Swank.
WHO: Jane Kaczmarek, Dita Von Teese, Karina Smirnoff and Rebecca de Mornay attended the live auction.
