FROM OUR WHITE HOUSE TO YOURS

In Celebration of the Presidential Inauguration,

White House | Black Market Designs Four One-of-a-Kind Gowns

Benefiting Clothes Off Our Back

Ft. Myers, FL, Jan. 8, 2009 - In celebration of the Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 20 and inspired by the style and grace of future First Lady Michelle Obama, White House | Black Market designers created The White House Inaugural Collection, which consists of four one-of-a-kind gowns - The Ladybird, The Abigail, The Jackie and The Eleanor - that will be available through a special charity auction in partnership with The Clothes Off Our Back Foundation. From Jan. 5 to Jan. 15 with the starting bid at $400, shoppers can vie for a couture gown and original designer’s sketch from this special collection at ClothesOffOurBack.org, benefiting Clothes Off Our Back’s charities including Feeding America (formerly named America’s Second Harvest), The Art of Elysium, Hope North and H.E.L.P. Malawi.

In time for the highly anticipated inauguration, the White House | Black Market boutique in Union Station in Washington, D.C. will be completely transformed into D.C.’s inaugural dress headquarters with a special window display unveiling the four couture gowns on Jan. 8 and a showcase of 12 new dress styles with a full accessory assortment. In addition to Union Station, four other D.C. area boutiques - Georgetown Park, Congressional Plaza, Tyson’s Corner and Fairfax Corner - will offer an expanded collection of dresses and accessories. From Jan. 9 to Jan. 20, shoppers who view the newest line of must-have dresses at these five D.C. area locations will receive 25 percent off purchases.

White House | Black Market received substantial attention on June 18, 2008, when Michelle Obama wore the now famous Tank Leaf Print Dress to great acclaim on ABC’s The View. Her $148 off-the-rack White House | Black Market dress ignited a fashion frenzy with women all over the country rushing into the boutiques in hopes of finding the Tank Leaf Print Dress. Since her appearance on The View, Mrs. Obama has become a true fashion icon known for mixing designer pieces with off-the-rack styles, and she proves that great style is affordable and accessible. The White House Inaugural Collection was created in recognition of the future First Lady’s appearance and in the spirit of a new era of White House style.

The ultimate destination for the little black dress, polished work essentials and everything in between, White House | Black Market offers chic, sophisticated apparel and accessories in a signature palette of white and black. White House | Black Market owns and operates 345 stores nationwide.
